Is it difficult to live in Vietnam?

Day update: 20/04/2022

About our lives today, from little things like what time we wake up each morning and have a cup of hot coffee or tea to contributing knowledge and building our careers on the foundation of different cultural backgrounds, the geographical location where we live, and the trend of social development. Living in Vietnam has unique characteristics that foreigners and indigenous people cannot find elsewhere.

In this article, Property Plus will share with readers more about the issue "When is the Rome, do as the Romans do" of foreigners, the process of integrating into the strange culture of Vietnamese people. We also help readers better understand our customs, habits, and daily habits and help Indigenous peoples see the hidden beauty of everyday life.

1. Vietnam's national holiday

One of the most traditional and expected holidays from Vietnamese people is Tet. We follow the culture of Mainland China and celebrate the Lunar New Year as per the lunar calendar. With the greatest number of holidays throughout the year, people often choose to visit relatives, family, friends, or go on vacation with their family.

According to our observations, foreigners who visit Vietnam during Tet with the desire to immerse themselves in the Tet atmosphere often choose big cities. Perhaps, partly because on holidays like this, the streets are much less noisy but still have the spring flavor of Tet. If you want to visit a friend or business partner's house during this holiday, don't forget to bring a little gift that symbolizes the sender's heart and wishes and good things to the recipient's family. Preparing some red envelopes and giving them to the children in the recipient's family is also a wish for good health and study in the upcoming school year.

Buying green plants and flowers to decorate your house is also an indispensable hobby and a very significant job on the occasion of Tet. You have all the chances of turning your daily home into a spring garden with two main colors: red and green. And if you have guests coming to visit, a little traditional Tet cake and red wine are irreplaceable elements for an intimate conversation over the festive music.

In addition to the traditional Tet holiday, Vietnam also has many different holidays throughout the year. Several holidays are dedicated to honoring great contributors to society such as Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20). Some are only known and celebrated by a small section. Each holiday has its character, reflecting a part of Vietnamese life. It is not only an opportunity for people to have some time for themselves to relax, visit family, meet friends; but also become historical and cultural landmarks of the country.

2. Traditional specialties:

Regional specialties in Vietnam are said to be one of the best things to try when you come to settle down or travel here, with specific flavors and ingredients and carefully processed. Each region has its specialties, but most tourists can explore them in big cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh, etc. Those who love noodles, vermicelli, certainly cannot omit all fibers such as clear noodles, rice noodles, noodles, etc. Bread lovers can buy one with all kinds of attractive fillings on every street corner in Hanoi. The most popular with young people as well as office class is light meals. On many streets in Hanoi, you can find stalls of porridge, rolls, dried beef salad, fried spring rolls, fried potatoes on the sidewalk, ready to serve all your needs. In terms of drinks, Highlands Coffee, Twitter Bean Coffee, or Starbucks can be good choices for coffee, or you can go for the quick - convenient - cheap option with hot or iced tea at convenience stores like Circle K or Shop & Go.

Many food critics and bloggers from abroad have been completely fascinated with the diverse food culture of Vietnamese people in terms of flavors and ingredients. They are still on the way to discover the taste and preparation of Vietnamese people. Indigenous people throughout the regions from there better understand and appreciate the unique culture of that place.
